  • +JMJ ... Oh so visually and spiritually beautiful home of the Nuns of Mother Angelica of EWTN! Great place to visit for a retreat from the normal hustle and bustle of life! My visit was paid several years ago when they were still building retreat lodging. For those who can appreciate the beauty of faith-related images and the quiet serenity of a worship space, this is well worth the adventure to find this Monastery. My friend and I had to phone the Nuns and ask how to find them. The Nun instructed us to look for a shed housing a donkey and for property that had an American Flag in the front lawn. No streets signs or numbers when we traveled there. Thank the Lord, we found the spiritual treasure that we were seeking! One of the Nuns allowed by friend and I to enter in to the Chapel. Lovely! Hope to be able to visit there again.

  • The location is remote for a good reason and beautiful to behold. Being so quiet helps the mind focus, find a center and contemplate on spirituality. Chapel has beautiful stain glass with floor tile art to behold. Please give alms so this area can flourish and continue to grow.
The chapel is closed between 11am and 230pm as of 10/16.

Getting there is a journey but worth it. GET GAS, food, etc. before you exit the highway. Be aware of the climate and time of year. Make sure you have a GPS, water, full tank of gas and a cell phone. Cell coverage was good, the road is an improved, dirt 1.5 lane as of 10/16. Make sure someone knows your trip. Do not attempt this if you have luxury car. Recommend a truck especially after it rains. The road is not steep but there are some good sized dips. Would not do this in the dark.
